PETROL TANKER FALLS AROUND LAKE FILLING STATION IN ONITSHA, ANAMBRA STATE

Report from Anambra State Fire and  Rescue Services Agency says that a tanker with full load of PMS (fuel), yesterday, fell besides Ifesinachi Workshop, Lake Bus Stop at OMAGBA PHASE II and everywhere got filled with stench of fuel.

At about 2035hours (8.35pm), Anambra State Fire Service received a distress call on the fallen Petrol Tanker.

Immediately, they deployed Fire Trucks and Firefighters to the incident scene.

Application of chemical foam compound has been done by the team led by Agbili Martin Agility, so as to prevent it from igniting Fire.

The Firemen are still working at the scene with other sister Agencies to effectively control the situation

In as much as Gov Willie Obiano  has duly equipped the Anambra State Fire and Rescue Services Agency, it is important we remember that Fire is preventable and the Firemen only respond from the very moment they are informed. The security Agencies are to be acknowledged too as they're on handy directing and stopping movement close to the scene so that nothing will ignite fire for what would have happened if not these interventions would have been more disastrous than the formers put together. Thanks to Akpokuedike Global for the powerful security network in the state. *ASATU Youth President His Youthfulness,  Hon. Patrick Agha Mba who doubles as the Chairman of Onitsha North Local Government* was fully on ground with the entire Community who were all gittery before when the tanker broke and full liquid content going through the drainage down to the community till the quick response from the Building material unit of the state Fire Service that started work before their counterparts from State headquarters reached. About three Fire Service trucks were there to ensured the situation is reduced to a zero fire ignition danger.
