Anambra State Assembly Resumes Sitting After Yuletide Break
The Anambra State House of Assembly yesterday resumed
sitting in Awka after Christmas and New Year break.
While welcoming the lawmakers back to legislative business
after the Christmas and New Year celebrations, the Speaker, Anambra State House
of Assembly, Honourable Uche Okafor charged them to intensity efforts in moving
their respective constituencies forward through effective representation, even
as he commended them for their absolute commitment to the welfare of their
constituents.
He expressed optimism that the year 2020 will be favourable
to the House in all fronts especially in their onerous task of contributing to
the good governance of the state through quality legislation, stressing the
need for the lawmakers to uphold love, understanding, unity and dedicated to
duty.
Supporting motion for adjournment, the Minority Leader, Mr.
Onyebuchi Offor commended the Anambra State Police Command and other security agencies
for discharging their duties creditably during the yuletide which ensured crime
free Christmas and New Year celebrations in the state.
