In Awka, Police Anti-Robbery Squad Kills Two Robbery Suspects

Special Anti Robbery Squad SARS have killed two armed robbery suspects in a
shootout in Awka According to a statement from the Anambra State Police Public
Relations Officer, in response to a distress call, the Police operatives stormed
the hideout of a robbery gang who allegedly attacked one Chiegulem Chidera at
Aguoye Omuko village Awka in Awka South Local Government Area and snatched his
Nissan X-tera jeep with Registration number Cross River GGJ 402 AA at gunpoint.
The statement explained that the suspects were trailed to
Nkwo Agulu and on sighting the Police opened fire and the police responded
promptly.
The two suspects one Onyebuchi Ngala popularly known as
Ceaser and Izuchukwu Okoro were fatally wounded during the gun encounter.
They were taken to the hospital for treatment but confirmed
dead on arrival by the medical doctor.
According to Mr Mohammed, exhibits recovered from the
suspects included the snatched X-tera jeep, one Ak forty-seven rifle, one pump
action gun, six live cartridges, four expended ammunition, five live ammunition
of seven point six-two millimeter and two Ak forty-seven magazines.
According to the statement, the deceased suspects were also
among the gang responsible for the abduction of one Mr Emeka Chiaghana of Nibo
last year.
