Obiano consoles Victims of Mgbuka market, Obosi inferno



Anambra state government has visited old Motor Parts Market, Mgbuka Obosi, to get first hand information as well console traders and artisans on the fire incident that occurred there on Friday.



The fire outbreak whose cause is yet unknown was said to have started around twelve in the morning.
Government House Correspondent, Emmanuel Okonkwo reports that on arrival at the scene of the incident with the Anambra State Governor, Chief Willie Obiano represented by his Deputy, Dr. Nkem Okeke, it was observed that the fire burnt down over twenty lockup shops.
According to the traders, no life was lost to the incident until a man whose house was burnt down last year during the festive period, rushed to the scene and saw that his shop was among the shops gutted by the inferno, collapsed and died out of shock.


Governor Obiano,
consoled the affected persons and assured them of the state government’s assistance to enable them start life over.
Governor Obiano encouraged them to take heart with the hope of better future ahead.


The state Commissioner for Trade and Commerce Mr. Uchenna Okafor while consoling the victims of the fire disaster, promised to work with the state government in facilitating assistance to the victims In a remark, the Chairman of the Market, Mr. Samuel Ezeobodo commended the state government for visiting the scene of the incident, and attested that Fire Service really tried their best to extinguish the fire, though shops loaded with goods were lost to the inferno.
Mgbuka Obosi Market is a market in Idemmili North Local Government Area of Anambra state where second hand motor parts are sold.
