Three killed as explosion rocks Kogi ahead of Buhari’s visit

 Three persons have been killed following an explosion in Okene Local Government Area of Kogi State.

The incident happened on Thursday morning, December 29, at the palace of Oyinoyi of Ebiraland, Alhaji Ado Ibrahim in Idoji area of Okene. 

This is coming few hours to the arrival of President Muhammadu Buhari to commission some projects in the North-Central state.

As at the time of filing this report, police operatives of the Anti-Bomb Unit were at the scene of the incident.

Eyewitnesses disclosed that the 'bomb' suspected to be local explosive was detonated in a gathering of spectators at the Echeane Festival, an annual masquerade event.
