Obi spoke when young professionals led by Mr. Daniel Roberts, an Itshekiri from Warri, Delta State presented him with Expression of Interest and nomination forms of PDP. Roberts said the group comprises working class people who believe in Obi. While receiving the forms Obi, surrounded by political allies which included the Senator representing Anambra Central District, UcheEkwunife, governorship candidates of PDP in 2017 and 2021, Hon. Oseloka Henry Obaze and Valentine Ozigbo among others said that in a few days’ time, he will have a formal declaration for the Presidential race during which he will roll out his manifesto. Obi said that in the on-going presidential recruitment aspirants’ past must be investigated and interrogated to find out how they fared in their previous jobs. He said that he is committed to building a better Nigeria and committed to the future of the youths. “We must get this country to work; we must build a better country for all of us, especially for the young ones. “In the coming days you will see my formal declaration and my manifesto which I am committed to. “Everything I am going to say I will do it. I believe I have the qualification, I have the knowledge and capacity to turn this country around, especially for the youths of the country.” Obi said the problems of the country were surmountable and that the first step to tackle insecurity was to work on the economy and have people gainfully employed and that he had detailed plans to pull people out of poverty. On the issue of having a consensus candidate among the aspirants, Obi said they had been talking with each other and that at the end, he might emerge the consensus candidate of the party as he said he enjoyed strong support from across Nigeria.
