NO HIDING PLACE FOR BANDITS, Says Gov Wike

Tony Ezike, Awka

The assertive Governor of Rivers State and energetic PDP Presidential Aspirant Gov Nyesom Wike has read the riot act for bandits laying siege and terrorising Nigeria in various regions.

Wike issued the yellow card to the criminals during an expanded meeting of PDP delegates, leaders, aspirants and key stakeholders at Hollywood Event Center Awka yesterday, noting that with him at the helm of affairs there will be no hiding place for bandits in the country.

During his speech which was aired live by PDP Interactive Forum facebook platform and monitored by PIFmedia, the outspoken governor said that bandits who dares to continue operation when he becomes governor have no value for their lives and no chance for survival.

“Anybody who calls himself bandit under my administration will be smoked out as I have zero tolerance for criminality and banditry. How do you explain a situation whereby you wake up everyday to new updates of killings, kidnapping incidents and destruction of property, yet the president seems to be helpless?

“Where in the world do you have presidential aides issuing statements on behalf of a president elected by the citizens? Look I cannot allow anybody to address Nigerians on my behalf as president and that is why I came to see you people personally today because there are responsibilities you don’t have to delegate as a leader.

“I know your son Peter Obi is running, but the issue of Nigeria’s presidency cannot be taken from the All Progressives Congress through theory. PDP needs a man who has what it takes to practically engage and wrestle this power from APC. Even APC as a party knows that the game is up the moment I have the PDP ticket. The energy inside me is too much and I want to use it to serve my country.

“That is why I solicit your support despite the fact that you have barely 40 votes since you do not have a state working committee currently. Do not waste your vote on someone who cannot win. Give it to me so I will win the presidency for PDP and employ competent hands that would run the country like a democratic entity” he said.

The Rivers State governor assured Anambra PDP members that he will not only wade into the crisis rocking the state chapter of the party, but will certainly address it if he becomes president. He said that Chief Chris Uba and Hon Chukwuka Onyema know that he cannot afford to make promise and not deliver at any point.

Governor Wike also stated that he is more concerned about security because one cannot be funding agriculture when farmers cannot access their farms due to the rising cases of insecurity, whereby they get attacked, raped and killed in their quest to source for livelihood in increase food supply.

He called on Nigerians to send the APC administration packing come 2023, contending that the only visible project credited to their government was daily killings and abduction of innocent citizens.
