Anambra State Government has declared intention to continue supporting  the church for its efficiency in service delivery.

Governor of the state, Professor  Charles Soludo, who was represented by his deputy, Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim, at the Cathedral Church of St Faith, Awka, during the nineth investiture into the orders of the knighthood of St Paul, St Christopher and Ladies of Bethany of the Diocese of Awka, Anglican Communion,  reassured of his administration's commitment in partnering with the church in all areas,

He  congratulated the knights and  charged them to emulate the act of supporting  the church as they have been called on to work for Christ.

In a sermon, Archbishop,  Province of Aba, Most Rev. Isaac Nwaobia  congratulated the new  knights and charged them to work for the expansion of God's  ministry.

" You  are invested into the knighthood of St Paul, St Christopher and Bethany to work as  soldiers of  christ, and to do exploits for the proper propagation  of God's word and winning souls for him", he said.

Most Rev. Nwaobia urged members of the knights to work in line with the oath being taken at the altar, and not belong to any secret cult, adding that they should be strong in faith and accept Jesus as their saviour among  others.

The Archbishop, Ecclesiastical Province of the Niger and Bishop of Awka Diocese, Most Rev Alexander Ibezim, who performed the investiture also prayed and blessed  the new administration in Anambra, praying that Anambra will never remain the same.

One of the new knights ,  Sir. Gregory Obiefuna, expressed his gratitude to God for the gift of life, saying " Knighthood is not something you go into without being prepared. You are nothing but a soilder of Christ and by the grace of God . I am ready to carry out my duties and also to win souls for Christ through my new position in the church".

Sir Obiefuna thanked the Bishop  Ibezim for finding him worthy to be honoured and prayed  God to continue to uplift the bishop and the church.

The deputy governor earlier graced  the wedding ceremony between Mr. Nonso Emeka, the son of the traditional ruler of Umueri, Igwe Ben Emeka, and Miss Jenifer Oguora at the Church of Penteost, Government House, Awka, which also attracted the former governor of Anambra State, Dr. Willie Obiano.
