 Protest Hits INEC Office Enugu Over Plans To Rig Enugu Guber Election.



SUPPORTERS of both Labour Party and People’s Democratic Party, is presently staging protests now in front of INEC office, Enugu.

Labour Party is protesting none usage of BVAS in the conduct of governorship election in Nkanu East Local Government area while PDP is saying that the result should be declared in their favour.

Meanwhile, Labour party has submitted a petition to INEC in respect of the results from Nkanu East Local Government area.

There is tension and anxiety in Enugu state as PDP and LP members occupied INEC office on Monday morning to protest over election results.

The coordinator of the presidential campaign of the Labour Party in Enugu state Prince Emeka Mamah, called on INEC to cancel Enugu East election over alleged over voting and declared LP gubernatorial candidate, Chijioke Edeoga winner.

While Director, PDP Support Groups for Peter Mbah, Rt. Hon. USA Igwesi also alleged massive rigging in Nsukka and called on INEC to declare PDP candidate Peter Mbah the winner having scored the highest number of votes in this election

“We will not take this, INEC should declare Mbah winner and anybody the is aggrived is free to go to court.

All we are saying is to give Peter Mba his mandate. We won the election so INEC should declare us winner


“It’s A very simple matter, unless Inec have another agenda. A winner has emerge, they need to announce Mbah winner this morning,” Igwesi said

Emeka Mamah on his part urged INEC to look into alleged irregularities at Nkanu East Local Government.

Mamah, a former commissioner under the PDP led administration, claimed that BIVAS was not used to conduct election at Nkanu East Local Government.

He also claimed that there was over voting in the area, saying that the results declared were not real results.

Mamah therefore urged INEC to look into their complaints and do the needful, insisting that despite all the alleged manipulations, their candiadate won the election.

As of the time of filling this report, the protesters vowed to continue with the protest untill INEC officials do the needful
