Anambra's new measures to curb COVID-19 spread commences today



As part of measures to curb the spread of COVID-19, civil servants from Grade level 1 to 12 in Anambra State, today, started working from home.


This followed the directive contained in a statement released by Secretary to Anambra State Government, Prof. Solo Chukwulobelu over the weekend.


The statement stated that Gov. Willie Obiano directed that civil servants in the state, from grade level 0 to 12 should work from home for now.


“This is to curtail the spread of COVID-19 pandemic since the second wave of the virus reached the state.’’


It also said that further preventive measures include a curfew which will start by 9pm to 6am on a daily basis  from today.


The statement said that the state COVID-19 Taskforce, Ministry of Trade and Commerce and Ministry of Health was now  empowered to increase hospital and market surveillance.


“It will close down any hospital or markets that fail to comply with the COVID-19 prevention protocols with immediate effect.’’


It notes that already, the state Mobile Courts would be activated to try COVID-19 protocols offenders from today.
