Compromised Results: More reason we should fight. Nobody should preach peace..." Catholic Priest Fr. Kelvin

Rev. Fr. Kelvin Ugwu, a Nigerian Catholic priest serving in Malawi, has alleged that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) altered the original results of Saturday’s presidential elections.

In a post on his verified Facebook page, Fr. Kelvin alleged that officials of INEC were comprised, stressing that all the results were doctored. He then shared some photos purported to be the results from polling units that were changed to remove votes from Labour Party's overall votes and add to another party.

Ugwu commended the former president, Olusegun Obasanjo over his call for the cancellation of the results.

He added that the Malawian government is not happy with the development in Nigeria.

He wrote: "I am also happy that all the international observers corroborated our stand that this election was a fraud.

“The election is so bad, even Malawi was not pleased. But of course, we all know that international observers are often there for formalities.”

He added that “even if Obi is announced as the winner of this election, it doesn't call for celebration until the right figures and numbers are announced.”

Father Ugwu then told Nigerians that he will not ask them to be calm because “this is not the time to be calm.”

He concluded: “For this, we will fight. Nobody should preach peace when they have not first preached justice.”
