46 Years Ago, We Lost A Hero Who Was In A Hurry To Develop Nigeria – Atiku

Atiku Abubakar has taken out his time to write a tribute to one of the past Nigerian leaders whom he said paid the supreme price for the love of Nigeria. The former presidential aspirant was paying a tribute to the late Gen. Murtala Mohammed who died in 1976.

Using his official Twitter page, the former vice president described how Nigeria lost a real hero forty-six years ago as he describes him as a man who gave so much to his nation ultimately paying the supreme price.

He then went on to say that Murtala Mohammed was in a hurry to develop Nigeria and in his determined progress, he planted trees whose shades he never lived to enjoy, including the new federal territory Abuja and the indigenization policy which enabled Nigerians to participate in their economy.
