Tribunal: How Peter Obi rigged out Atiku in Anambra – witness

In a significant revelation during the ongoing hearing at the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal, Ndubuisi Nwobu, the witness representing the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), shed light on how the party's candidate, Atiku Abubakar, was allegedly rigged out by Peter Obi, the candidate from the Labour Party (LP), in the Anambra State election held on February 25.

According to the official results announced by the Independent Electoral Commission (INEC), the LP candidate obtained 584,621 votes, while Atiku secured only 9,036 votes in Anambra State. In the same election, Bola Tinubu, the flag bearer of the All Progressives Congress (APC), received 5,111 votes.

Nwobu, who serves as the PDP chairman in Anambra State and acted as the party's collation agent, spoke about the fraudulent activities that occurred at various collation centers across the state. He also made the startling claim that he was coerced into signing the election result sheet.

During his testimony, Nwobu admitted that he was only able to visit 30 out of the 4,720 polling units in the state on election day. He further explained, "I signed the result sheet when it was obvious that without signing, a copy would not be made available to me. There were problems at the polling units with presiding officers. Results were entered at polling units. But every effort made to get the presiding officer to upload it on IREV proved abortive. At the ward level, the results were taken to the collation center, and that is where the magic started happening."

These revelations are crucial in the PDP's petition against the election outcome, as they highlight alleged irregularities and raise questions about the integrity of the electoral process in Anambra State. The tribunal will thoroughly examine the evidence presented and evaluate its impact on the case.

The proceedings continue, and the court will delve further into the details surrounding the election in Anambra State. As the testimonies unfold, both the PDP and the LP will present their arguments and counterarguments to ascertain the truth and ensure a fair and just resolution to the electoral dispute.
