Oyo Governor's wife welcomes New Year babies

Wife of Oyo State Governor, Tamunominini Makinde, on Sunday, welcomed the babies of year 2023 at Adeoyo Specialist Hospital, Ring Road, Oluyoro Catholic Hospital and Adeoyo Maternity Teaching Hospital, Yemetu in Ibadan.

Mrs Makinde presented gift items to the babies during her visits to the hospitals. The gifts included baby essentials, money and other gifts.

The first baby of the year, a girl, weighing 3.0 kilogrammes, was born to the family of Mr and Mrs Itunnu at 02.50 a.m at Adeoyo Specialist Hospital.

The second baby of the year, a girl was born at Oluyoro Catholic Hospital to the family of Mr and Mrs Dada, at 03: 00 a.m. She weighs 3.4kg.

The third baby, a boy, was born at 04:20 a.m. at Adeoyo Maternity Teaching Hospital, Yemetu.

In her remarks, Mrs Makinde, represented by the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Inclusion, Alhaja Kafilat Omolabake Olayiwola, thanked God for the safe delivery and congratulated all mothers while urging them to take care of their babies.

She urged women to come out and vote in their numbers and advised those that are yet to collect their voters card to do so to enable them vote.

While speaking, the mother of the first new year baby, Mrs Itunnu thanked the wife of the governor for the kind gesture. She urged mothers to dedicate enough time for their babies.

She said: I give glory to God. I want to urge all mothers that we should dedicate enough time for our babies as they grow up everyday. I pray God in his infinity mercy should bless Her Excellency for the gifts.

Mrs Makinde also visited Oni and Sons Children Hospital, where she donated gifts to the children.
