Thugs Invade Church, Cart Away PVC Registration Machines In Lagos

With less than 72 hours to the end of the Continuous Voter Registration, the CVR effort by the Independent National Electoral Commission, to bring the registration closer to the people has been thwarted in a part of Lagos as some thugs invaded St. Bridget Catholic Church Ayesha, Surulere, and catered away machines of INEC officials carrying out the exercise.

The Parish Priest of the church at the time of filling this report has locked up the church when people scampered for safety. An eyewitness who identified herself as Dr. Ambassador Princess Okojie Igbemudia said the thugs stormed the church and disrupted the exercise because they (those registering) will vote for Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party. From the video the eyewitness posted, Police has been deployed to the area to maintain peace and order after the thugs had escaped with the machines.
