Don’t Be Surprised Buhari Is Backing Atiku – Sowore

 

Omoyele Sowore publisher of Sahara Reporters and aspirant of the African Action Congress has alleged that President Buhari is backing Atiku Abubakar of the PDP. 

NAIJA NEWS NG reports that in a recent post on his official Facebook handle, Sowore said:

‘Don’t be surprised to know that Muhammadu Buhari is actually supporting Atiku Abubakar to become President in 2023. Same applies to Peter Obi.’

While it is not clear whether Sowore’s last statement actually meant that Peter Obi is also supporting Atiku, it should not be strange that none of his assertions could be believed.

Buhari had in 2019 defeated Atiku and Peter Obi who were PDP’s candidates for the Presidency and Vice Presidency respectively. As a key figure in the All Progressives Congress, Buhari has refused to openly endorse any aspirant contesting on the platform of the ruling party for the presidency. On the other hand, Peter Obi who was Atiku’s running mate in 2019 has been making serious consultations with party delegates and leaders across many states.
