Njide Okonjo-Udochi emerges as first black female 'Physcian of the Year' in USA

Shortly after the appointment of Ngozi Okonjo-lweala as the first female Director General of World Trade Union (WTO) early this week, her sister has also emerged as the first black female to become 'Physician of the Year'  2021 in Maryland, United States oft America

Okonjo-lweala while expressing her joy, took to her twitter handle to congratulate her sister for the

prestigious award bestowed to her as mark of excellence. 

According to her, "Congratulations Dr. Njideka Okonjo-

Udochi, Maryland's Family Physician Of The Year. Thank you for your care of COVID- 19 patients and for

saving so many lives. Proud of you my sister." She said.

Still reacting to the new feat given to  Okonjo-Udochi by 'The Maryland Academy of Family Physicians' (MDAFP) 

another  member of the Okonjo family, who is the founder and CEO of Giant Beverages, Onyema Okonjo also congratulated Dr Okonjo-Udochi

 "Congratulations to both of my older sisters (Ngozi Okonjo Iweala & Njide Udochi).

"And congratulations to my parents. My eldest sister for her success with the WTO and my second sister for being selected as the best family practice doctor in Maryland, USA. 

"My parents set the stage with their strong support for women. My mother has been a very passionate women’s rights advocate and even as a retired Professor of Sociology in her 90’s, she still cares about women’s rights, equal rights, and equal access for women. May God bless both of you and may both of you continue to reach greater heights."

Njide Okonjo-Udochi is know in the medical field as the  founder of  Millennial Family Care in 2003, who also was featured as  Baltimore Magazine Top Doctor in 2019. 

Moreso , she is recognised as one of the top primary care doctor in Maryland and at large

 She has appeared on medical expert doctors' interviews on so many media platforms, including CNN, FOX News, CNBC, among others.
