I always feel like raping any girl that comes my way - 20-year-old suspected rapist tells court

 

A rape suspect, Quadri Azeez, 20, who was recently arraigned before Magistrate Olusegun Ayilara of the Osogbo Magistrates Court in Osun state says he always gets the urge to rape any girl he sees and believes his predicament is spiritual.

 

 

 

Azeez was dragged before the court on two counts bordering on rape and assault of a minor. The charge sheet presented before the court by the prosecutor, Inspector Elisha Olusegun, said Azeez on March 6, 2021 at Ara area, Ede, had sexually assaulted a girl (name withheld) thereby committed an offence punishable under sections 358 and 360 of the Criminal Code Cap 34 Vol. II Laws of Osun State of Nigeria 2002.

 

 

 

During his cross-examination, Azzez said

 

“I always feel like raping girls that come my way, I always feel uneasy when I sight any girl. My parents had been going about for spiritual solution to my problem before I raped this girl. That was the first girl I would ever rape.”

 

 

 

The plea of the defendant, who was represented by Olatunbosun Oladipupo, was however not taken.

 

 

 

The magistrate gave March 15, 2021 for further hearing.
