Anambra Govt lifts suspension of three monarchs
ANAMBRA State Governor, Willie Obiano has lifted the suspension of three monarchs who were suspended on the recommendation of Anambra State Traditional Rulers Council, for traveling outside the state without obtaining necessary approval.
The action was in line with the powers bestowed on the governor under the Anambra State Traditional Rulers Law of 2007, as amended.
Among the traditional rulers are Igwe Kelly N. Nkeli of Igbariam, Igwe Dr. Emeka Ilouno of Ifitedunu and Igwe Peter A. Uyanwa of Ukwulu.
According to a statement signed by Anambra state Commissioner for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Community Affairs, Greg Obi, the lifting of the suspension is with immediate effect.
