Anambra Deputy Gov, Dr. Ibezim, has been conferred the award Grand Commander of Nigerian youths.

Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim, received the award  during the inauguration of new executive members of , National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN),  Anambra Chapter, with the theme “’Proactive Youth Leadership, The Solution For Economy, Peaceful and Livable Homeland’, held at Archbishop Obiefuna Retreat, Pastoral and Conference Centre, Okpuno.

Addressing the youths, Dr. Ibezim, called on leaders to see leadership as an employment for positive impact not for personal gain.

While emphasising that good leadership is the solution to all challenges,  he stated that ” the essence and vision of leadership is to support the affairs of the poor both in character and otherwise to be better people, to make the good ones better and strive to make the better ones to be the best”.

He re-echoed that the programmes and policies of the Professor Charles Soludo-ed administration are structured in a way to tremendously favour youths in the state and that  the activities of the present administration are designed to uplift the living standard of ndi Anambra, sayin that the welfare of the youths is among the top priorities of the government.



The keynote speakers, Chief of Protocol and Deputy Chief of Staff to the state governor, Prof Soludo, Chinedu Nwoye, Commissioner for Agriculture, Dr Forster Ezenwa and the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Anambra Broadcasting Service (ABS), Mr. Chido Obidiegwu, urged youths to  develop their skills and clinch the opportunities that abound before them to be greater people for sustainable development of Anambra State and Nigeria. They also charged youths to shun cultism and imbibe good ways of achieving better things in life.

The new State chairman, NYCN, Emeka Obi, expressed gratitude to God for the gift of life to witness the event and commended Prof Soludo’s government for his effort towards the actualisation of its campaign promises, while assuring that Anambra NYCN and the entire youths in the state are solidly behind the government and will contribute their support in making the state better.

The Candidate of All progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) for  Awka North House of Assembly in the forthcoming election, Chimezie Ikwunne, appealed to the youths to be creative and productive in all they do. “We need to be  products of value, not failure”.

 The event had in attendance the Commissioner of Youth, Patrick Agha Mba, Deputy Chief of Staff to the Governor,(Office of the Deputy Governor) Ugochukwu Obiefuna, Deputy Chief of Protocol to the Governor, ( Office of the Deputy Governor)  Emma Obiozor, Deputy President, NYCN, Nduanya Innocent, among others.
