Soludo marks 63rd birthday with health walk

.Urges Ndi Anambra to eat right, exercise daily

Governor of Anambra State, Chukwuma Soludo has stressed the importance of  eating  balanced diet exercising  right in  healthy living and long life.

Speaking to the press after an 8km walk  in his hometown, Isuofia, Aguata Local Government, to mark his 63rd birthday celebration, Governor Soludo explained that  at 63, he feels 36 because of the lifestyle he adopted.

He explained that it is the reason Healthy Living With Nonye Soludo is being mainstreamed into Anambra Schools to inculcate healthy lifestyle in children and  expressed optimism that Anambra State Government will continue prioritise health as "health is wealth".

“To mark my 63rd birthday, this morning I embarked on an 8 kilometer walk for life in the company of my wife, Dr. Nonye Soludo, around my local community — Isuofia. We were joined by some members of the State Executive Council, members of my community and some friends.

“At 63, I feel like I’m 36, and this is as a result of two factors. First, is the boundless grace of God, and the other is a habit of healthy living that combines what my wife summarizes as “eating clean, but exercising dirty”.

“My wife has recently launched an initiative called Nonye's Healthy Living to mainstream the importance of healthy living across schools in the state. We must begin to take these things seriously, because health, they say, is wealth.

“After the walk, I shall embark on an inspection tour of ongoing projects across the State, and also commission a new production line of the Tiger Foods Limited the leading company in Nigeria when it comes to the manufacturing of natural food spices.

“May Anambra continue to win!”  Soludo said.

In an interview, Chief of Staff to the Governor, Mr. Ezeajughi appreciated God for keeping giving Governor Soludo good health to lead the state.

Chief of Protocol and Deputy Chief of Staff to the Governor, Mr. Chinedu Nwoye, Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr. Christian Aburime, and the Member representing Aguata Two Constituency at the State House of Assembly, Mr. Tony Moubike prayed for God to continue to keep the Governor to complete God's assignment to him on earth as well as his vision for the state.

The governor was in company of his wife, Nonye, Principal Secretary,  JPC Anaeto, Chief of Staff, Mr. Ernest Ezeajughi, among others.

Traditional music and cutting of cake were highpoints of the occasion.
