Supreme Court adjourns Imo judgment review appeal till March 3
The Supreme Court, again Monday, adjourned the hearing on
the application filed by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its Imo State
governorship candidate, Emeka Ihedioha, till Tuesday, March 3.
The application is seeking the review of its January 14 judgment
that removed Ihedioha from office as the state governor.
Ihedioha had approached the apex court with an application
to reverse itself on the judgment sacking him from office as governor.
However, at the resumed hearing Monday, Counsel to Ihedioha
and PDP, Chief Kanu Agabi (SAN), asked the court for an adjournment to enable
him to respond to court processes he said was served on him by Governor Hope
Uzodinma and the All Progressive Congress (APC), in the courtroom.
He said, “My lords this matter was adjourned for hearing,
but we were just served in the courtroom with a process from the 1st and 2nd
Respondents/Appellants.
“If it is convenient to your lordships, permit us to come
back tomorrow (Tuesday) so that we can look at this process”, Agabi told the
apex court panel after the case was called up.”
Counsel to Imo State governor Uzodinma APC, Damian Dodo
(SAN), confirmed what Agabi said and did not oppose the application.
The seven-member panel of the Supreme Court led by Chief
Justice Tanko Muhammad, therefore, adjourned hearing till March 3.
