Christmas: Touch lives with kindness - Obiano

Anambra State Governor, Willie Obiano has stressed the need for ndi Anambra to use the period of Christmas and New year celebrations to reach out and touch lives with special acts of kindness.

Making this known in a special Christmas Message signed by  his Chief Press Secretary, James Eze,  Chief Obiano, who also called on all christains to let their lights shine on their neighbours noted that there is no better time for the people to show love to their communities considering how COVID-19 and other afflictions  traumatised mankind this year.

“Ndi Anambra, there’s no better time to show your communities that you care for them than now. Please, reach out and touch someone with a special act of kindness. That’s what our people are known for,”

He observed that  “throughout history, the walls that separate humanity from one another have always  fallen down in times of common adversity and grief" and that "simple acts of kindness do not only heal broken hearts, they also give many people a hope to hold on to. When we are kind to our neighbours, we multiply our chances of surviving the COVID-19 pandemic.”

Governor Obiano

further reminded the people to maintain all the COVID-19 protocols while celebrating Christmas.

“Ndi b’anyi, it is good to celebrate Christmas but we must not throw our lives away in the process. COVID-19 is still very much around and we must minimise the chances of exposing ourselves to it by celebrating Christmas indoors with our families and loved ones. This is not a time for unrestrained social mobility. Let’s give ourselves a chance to survive this pandemic. Let’s celebrate Christmas indoors and ensure that we wear our face masks if we must go out,” he said.
