Kano Head of Service resigns as Governor Yusuf directs Isa Dutse to take over.
Kano State Head of Service, Usman Bala Muhammad has resigned his position with the Kano State Government few months after his appointment by Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf.
Although he gave no reason for his sudden resignation, it is
generally held that he was side- lined by key actors in the new administration,
who saw him as part of the Ganduje administration than one of their own.
Daily Sun reports that Muhammad had served as Principal
Private Secretary, Head of Civil Service and as the Chief of Staff to former
Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje before his secret switch of loyalty in favour
of Abba Kabiru Yusuf and the NNPP in the last days of the former
administration.
In a public notice verifying his resignation, he gave
gratitude to Allah for his 33 years in public service while expressing
gratitude to the administrations of Kwankwaso, Shekarau, Ganduje and Yusuf for
appointing him to serve in different capacities of the governance of the state.
In the meantime, Kano State Government has accepted his
resignation and has directed the Permanent Secretary, Charge of Council
Affairs, Mazauta Isa Dutse (Mrs) to supervise the office of the Head of Service
pending the appointment of a new head.
A press statement signed by the Secretary to the State
Government, Abdullahi Baffa Bichi , said the directive by the Governor is
effective from Wednesday, November 1, 2023.
